*This is a free corner to corner crochet square with a beautiful sunflower motif. You can use this square for blankets, pillows, and many more projects.*

Corner to corner crochet technique is a fun way to create beautiful projects with pictures. It is sometimes referred to as C2C which is short for corner to corner.

It is a fun way to turn everyday objects and designs into graphs which you can then crochet from. The possibilities for different designs are endless.

You can make this beautiful corner to corner crochet square featuring a bright sunflower and use it for blankets, pillows, or wall hanging.

## About This Corner To Corner Crochet Square

I love designing crochet C2C graphs as they turn objects into crochet projects.

I was so excited when I got the invitation to join the Community Blanket Crochet CAL organized by Helen from Sunflower Cottage Square.

It is a collaboration of different crochet designers where each of us designed a square inspired by “allotments”.

In the UK, allotments are a plot of land where you can grow your own fruits and vegetables. They bring people together and there is a real sense of community. People help each other and share tips and advice on how to grow things.

That is where the inspiration for this crochet along comes from. The CAL runs from September into October and you can join in and collect the individual square designs as they are released.

However, if you love the design, you do not have to wait and you can purchase the whole eBook which contains all 20 square designs.

**What does the eBook contain?**

- all 20 corner to corner square designs with written instructions, graphs
- Written and photo tutorial of joining method and border
- you will also get 4 bonus squares not available anywhere else

## Sunflower Corner To Corner Crochet Square

I was so excited to design this sunflower c2c square. When I was deciding on the theme for my square, I was instantly drawn to flowers.

And what better flower to use for the fall theme than the sunflower? My boys absolutely love sunflowers because they look so cheerful and are majestically tall!

We even planted a few sunflower seeds and enjoyed watching them grow together. It was also a holiday project for my older boy’s school.

We enjoyed watching it grow from the seed and also measuring its height as it grows.

**MATERIALS**

(aran weight; 100% acrylic; 184m (201yds) per 100g (3.5oz)) x 1 ball in Paper White, Blood Orange, Buttercup Yellow, and Coffee Bean*Paintbox Simply Aran**5 mm crochet hook**Yarn needle**Scissors*

**FINISHED SIZE**

The pattern is 25 x 25 blocks. Using HDC you will get 13″ square, using DC it will be 17-18″ square.

**TENSION**

For corner to corner blanket projects, the gauge is not necessarily important, but you can adjust to specific requirements. As long as your tension is consistent gauge does not matter for this project.

**STITCHES AND ABBREVIATIONS (US CROCHET TERMS)**

**ch** = chain

**hdc** = half double crochet

**dc = **double crochet

**sl st = **slip stitch

**st(s)** = stitch(es)

**PATTERN NOTES**

- the square uses the corner to corner crochet technique
- you can either use double crochet stitch for a classic corner to corner
- alternatively, you can use hdc for a mini corner to corner
- keep color changes to the same side so there is a definite front and back to the square
