This is a free crochet pattern to create a cute crochet Easter chicken pattern. You can make a bunch of these in under an hour and have a cute home decoration for Easter!

FREE Crochet Chicken Pattern for Easter
Materials Needed for Crochet Chicken
- Soho SkwishyĀ (bulky weight; 100% Polyester; 120 m [131 yds] per 100g [3.5 oz]) x 1 ball in each Seaside, Peony Pop, Sunny Side
- 6 mm crochet hook
- Yarn needle
- Scissors

10 sc x 10 rounds = 10 x 10 cm/ 4 x 4 inch
Stitches And Abbreviations (US Crochet Terms)
ch – chain stitch
sl st – slip stitch
sc – single crochet
dc – double crochet
Crochet Chicken Finished Size
13 cm/5 inch height x 14 cm /5.5 inch length

Crochet Chicken Pattern Notes
- the easter chicken is worked in one piece using single crochet
- you will work in joined rounds
- start working into the foundation chain and the underside of the foundation chain to create a round
- then work up the height by repeating rounds of single crochet
- sew the top opening in the direction perpendicular to the bottom foundation chain
- the front is then finished off with the safety eyes, beak and comb

Free Crochet Chicken Written Pattern
Chain 11.
Rnd 1: starting in 2nd ch from hook, work 1 sc into each ch across, then continue down the underside of the foundation chain working 1 sc into each ch on the underside, sl st to first st to join.
[20 sc]
Rnd 2 – 9: 1 ch (doesnāt count as a st here and throughout), 1 sc into each st around, sl st to first st to join.
[20 sc]
FINISHING INSTRUCTIONS
With yarn still attached, 1 ch, insert hook through the first st, skip next 8 sts, and insert hook through the next st, work 1 sl st.
Then continue working across the remaining sts on both sides slip stitching them together to close the front. Fasten off.
Insert stuffing.

CHICKEN WATTLES
Join pink yarn in next st on both sides of the front opening.
Work (1 sc, 2 dc, 1 sc) in same st. Fasten off.
Insert safety eyes on both sides 2 sts from the top edge and one round in.
CROCHET CHICKEN BEAK
Join yellow yarn in next st on both sides of the front opening.
Work (1 sc, 1 dc, 2 ch, 1 dc, 1 sc) in same st.
Fasten off.
COMB
Join pink/blue yarn in next st on both sides of the front opening.
Work (1 sc, 2 dc, 1 sc) in same st. Repeat through last st on both sides of the front opening.
Work (1 sc, 3 dc, 1 sc) around the body of next sc at the top of the chickenās head.
Fasten off.
Sew in all ends and pull all ends inside the body of the chicken with yarn needle.
