Super quick and easy crochet coin purse with zipper not only for the back to school season but all year round! Follow this free beginner friendly pattern.

Aren’t small crochet project just the cutest? I love quick and satisfying crochet makes that you can whip up in an hour or so. It is so rewarding and you get the feeling of time well spent.

That is exactly what my crochet coin purse with zipper is! It is big enough to hold and carry your change. But small enough to hang onto your keys as a keychain. How cute is that!

I have gone to a supermarket many times to do shopping only to realise I have no change for the trolley! And do not get me started on keeping loose chain in the car! Those coins never stay in the same place and end up under your seat every time you need one!

However, I now keep this little crochet coin purse with zipper in the car! That means I always have change on me for trolleys or car park!

Crochet Coin Purse With Zipper Design Process

I am in love with this wedge shape! You might think that this coin purse looks somewhat familiar. Well, you are not wrong!

I have previously made a Stylish Crochet Wedge Project Bag- Free Pattern that uses the same construction. It looks way more complicated than it is. You simply crochet a tube shape and then sew the ends in opposite directions. However, I wanted to save on the amount of sewing required, so I crocheted the bottom into both sides of the foundation chain. This has essentially closed off the bottom, saving on having to sew it together.

This is a real stash busting crochet project. It uses hardly any yarn and works up super fast! This crochet coin purse would make the perfect craft stall product to sell. You can make these for gifts or as stocking fillers too!
