Lace Crochet Bag Charm Pattern Details

I am so in love with this super cute lace crochet bag charm! They are so addictive to make I have already made two and I don’t think I will be stopping there!

The boho chic with a touch of vintage look is right up my alley and I can’t wait to show it off on my handbag or keychain!

It would also make the perfect end of year teachers’ gifts or as a market stall item to sell. I can see this being a bestseller already!

The whole bag charm only requires you to crochet a small square which is super easy to make.

Making a tassel is also super easy and you don’t even need a fancy tassel maker for this step! I used a small notebook which worked perfectly.

The addition of small wooden beads finish off this crochet bag charm just perfect for that extra touch of boho.

You can also completely customise the finished size by making a larger/smaller tassel or using two or three squares joined with wooden beads in between.

Using a tassel maker (or a piece of cardboard), make a tassel.

Wrap yarn around as many times you wish for a desired thickness of your tassel, cut yarn.

Cut a length of yarn and secure the loops on top end, remove from the tassel maker or cardboard and cut through all loops on the opposite side to the secured end.

Cut another length of yarn and tie around all strands of yarn approximately 1.5 cm from the top then using a needle pull the ends through to the middle of the tassel and trim ends to the same length. Trim the whole tassel to around 8 cm in length or to a desired length.

Join yarn in any 2 ch-sp of the finished square and chain 20, then slip stitch back into the same 2 ch-sp to create a loop for the bag charm. Thread a bead onto this loop.

Thread another bead onto the two yarn strands coming out of the top of the tassel.

Then pull the yarn ends through the opposite (to the top loop) 2 ch-sp of the square and secure by tying a knot and using a needle to securely sew in both ends.

Sew in all remaining yarn tail ends and block the small square for a neat result.

Please note: to make your bag charm reversible you can attach two squares together wrong sides facing.

Simply slip stitch them together all the way around working through back loops only and working (1 sl st, 1 ch, 1 sl st) in the corner 2 ch-sps.
