Paired double crochet stitch is such an easy crochet stitch that creates stunning texture! I have filmed a quick video tutorial to help you learn a new stitch.
I am also bringing you a couple of projects using this great stitch- cardigan and a bed runner pattern.

PAIRED DOUBLE CROCHET TUTORIAL
I simply love this stitch! I have used paired double crochet stitch for many projects. Including many garments and blankets.
It has such a simple construction but creates the most lovely textured fabric. All you need to create this stitch is two double crochet stitches.
It is the placement of these stitches that makes all the difference. Rather than working into top loops of the stitches, you work in-between the posts of the stitches.
There are no chain stitches between the two double crochets. Hence why the paired double crochet is sometimes referred to as closed V stitch.
I have filmed a quick video tutorial to show you this super simple stitch. For the stitch count to work you need to start with odd number of starting chains.
Which is very handy to know if you wanted to use this stitch for a project of your own. The work is framed by one double crochet stitch either side.

PROJECTS USING PAIRED DOUBLE CROCHET
I have used paired double crochet for my Working Girl Cardigan designed in 9 different sizes. It worked up super fast and it is one of my favourite crochet garments to wear all year round.
The pattern is suitable for a beginner crocheter who would like to try their hand at making crochet garments. There is minimal sewing required.
The only seam you will have to deal with is two shoulder seams.
This pattern also includes two alternatives for sleeves – textured or plain – and two neckline alternatives – shawl collar or ribbed.
That means you can completely customise you own cardigan. I used Deramores Studio Anti-pilling DK in Mustard. You can find the pattern via button below.
The other project I used paired double crochet stitch for was Valentina Bed Runner. I have designed this super squishy project for Underground Crafter blog.
Marie is an amazing designer blogger and has an endless inspiration on her blog. Not only crochet but knitting, sewing and Cricut projects!
The crochet bed runner pattern has been designed for a double bed and measures 60 x 195 cm.
However, the pattern has a handy guide to show you how to adjust the size to fit a single or king size bed.
It is a super simple crochet pattern that is suitable for a beginner or more advanced crocheter alike when you are “watching” Netflix. I used Paintbox Yarns Simply Chunky in Marine Blue.
You can get ad free, printer friendly PDF version of this pattern from my shops, buttons below.
Happy crocheting! I hope you enjoyed the pattern.
