Free textured crochet granny square pattern that is perfect for a stunning crochet blanket and many other projects.
I have been counting down the days until the release day of this beautiful textured crochet square! It has been designed especially for The Friendship Crochet Along organised by Sunflower Cottage Crochet. The CAL consists of 40 crochet square patterns designed by 28 amazing crochet designers.
Inspiration for Friendship Star- textured crochet square
When I have seen the details of this amazing crochet along idea, I knew I had to contribute! I am so excited to be part of this event celebrating friendship. I think it is important now more then ever to celebrate even the small things in life.
As the name suggests I have been inspired by the star shape for my textured crochet square.
“Friends are like stars. You don’t have to see them to know they are there.”
I think friends are very much like stars. You only need to look up and they are there. Even on a cloudy night, you might not be able to see the stars but you know they are near watching over you.

Textured Crochet Square – Friendship Star
I have used a combination of textured and lacy crochet stitches. The square uses textured crochet stitches like popcorn and front post crochet stitches to create the star shape. This is then surrounded by lacy crochet stitches to really make the star shape stand out.
As I mentioned, this square is part of The Friendship Crochet Along. If you want to find out more about this great project, check out FREE BLANKET CROCHET-A-LONG TO CELEBRATE LOVE AND FRIENDSHIP page for all the materials needed and other details.
This crochet along also comes with the amazing option of all 40 crochet square patterns in one handy crochet bundle. The cost of each individual pattern works at $0.25 per pattern which is an absolute bargain! Check out the bundle below!
