Can we take a minute of appreciation for chunky crochet slipper socks, please? I love my Lake Cabin Crochet Socks and I am sharing the free crochet pattern with you!
CHUNKY CROCHET SLIPPER SOCKS DESIGN PROCESS
You might have noticed that based on the last couple of patterns, I am cold blooded individual.
Not in a nasty way, I just really suffer with cold hands and feet! If you remember I designed The Mountain Crochet Leg Warmers not so long ago.
I love wearing my legwarmers but they do not really keep my feet warm.
So, today I am going all out and bringing you a free pattern for my chunky crochet slipper socks! I love these socks!

YARN I USED FOR CHUNKY CROCHET SLIPPER SOCKS
I used Drops Snow yarn to make my chunky crochet slipper socks.
It is 100% wool yarn so I can’t even begin to tell you how warm these socks are.
I combined the leg warmer part and carried on working up the leg until the socks reached my knees! That’s roughly about where my warm blood flows to…lol
Drops Snow is a super chunky weight yarn so these easy knee high crochet socks will work up in no time.
They are more of a round-the-house slipper sock but I am very tempted to squeeze them into my wellies when we go out!
You can purchase the ad free, printer friendly PDF version of this pattern in my shops.
I have always been slightly scared of making crochet socks though. All this talk about heel flaps and afterthought heel is making my brains go blah..
That’s why I have created the easiest crochet sock pattern that is perfect for a beginner crocheter.
I personally think, this easy crochet heel is a good place to start with crochet sock making.
To help you along with your first pair of socks, I have also included a photo tutorial as one photo (or 8 in this case) speaks louder than 1000 words!

- Drops Snow (super chunky; 50m per 50g ball; 100% wool) x 5 balls in Olive (06) and 2 balls in Powder Pink (51)

PATTERN NOTES
- The socks are worked toe up
- The main body of the sock is worked in sc blog to give the socks plenty of stretch
- The top cuff is worked afterwards in rows of sc blog at 90 degree angle to the sock
CHUNKY CROCHET SLIPPER SOCKS SIZE ADJUSTMENTS
- The toe part is worked in rounds creating a circle. The number of rounds of the circle determines the finished width of the foot part of the sock. For smaller socks work less rounds of the beginning circle, for a larger sock add a couple of rounds for wider foot.
- The length of the sock from toe to heel flap can easily be adjusted by working more/less rounds of the foot part
