The free pattern for this stylish crochet bohemian vest is available here on the blog. It is a lovely summer crochet wardrobe staple to wear over a vest top or as a beach cover up.
Searching through the internet for the perfect definition of boho style proved to be more tricky than I realised!
Each website seemed to define it differently. And then all of a sudden it made perfect sense!
It comes in many forms, it doesn’t fall into just one category and it can not be defined by just a few words!
It is a style that boils down to individual interpretation! Bohemian style or “boho” is a rule-breaking, personal and unconventional style!
How does bohemian style translate to crochet?
When it comes to crochet, bohemian style remains the same free-spirited form of style.
The crochet boho style often brings stylish pieces of garments and home decor.
Crochet Bohemian Vest is by far the most popular crochet garment showcasing this style.
Most of these crochet bohemian vest patterns have a few things in common that makes them characteristic to boho style.
They are mostly longer crochet bohemian vests that come down to mid-thigh or knee length.
Tassels or a statement fringe often finish off the bottom of vests, scarves or shawls.
The colours many crocheters use are neutral with predominantly white, off-white or cream shades.
These are often used to show off intricate lacy openwork against a sun kissed skin.

Crochet Bohemian Vest Free Pattern
I have designed this boho style vest as a perfect summer wardrobe piece.
It is lovely to throw over a simple vest top for a lunch date in town.
However, it works lovely as a beach cover up to throw over your swimsuit.
I crocheted it slightly longer, it comes down to mid-thigh length.
I love the added fringe at the bottom. It adds a playful touch to the design.
The lacy openwork looks lovely when worn.
I used King Cole Bamboo DK yarn in off-white.
The armholes are beautifuly over sized making this a comfortable crochet bohemian vest to wear.
