Crochet Hooded Bunny Blanket Design

The Hop Little Bunny Blanket features a playful and charming design, blending basic stitches, and easy crochet techniques with whimsical elements.

The blanket uses the block stitch that is worked diagonally across in corner to corner technique,

Hereā€™s a detailed look at this free hooded bunny blanket pattern features:

1. Crochet Hood with Bunny Ears:

The hood serves as the centerpiece of this blanket, designed to fit snugly while showcasing long, floppy bunny ears.

These ears are crafted with single crochet stitches to give them a soft, slightly rounded shape and a gently textured appearance.

The ears hang playfully from the sides of the hood, adding a touch of charm and personality.

2. Blanket Body:

The body of the blanket is a square panel worked in textured crochet block stitches that create a cozy, warm fabric.

The stitch choice adds depth, making the blanket visually appealing while feeling soft and comfortable. Working in the corner to corner technique allows you to completely customise the size of the blanket to your liking.

Each element is carefully crafted to balance aesthetics, comfort, and versatility, ensuring the final product is as delightful to use as it is to admire.

Crochet Hooded Bunny Blanket Pattern Notes

  • the blanket is worked in block stitch in a corner to corner technique diagonally across
  • you will start with 1 block stitch and increase on either side of the blanket until you reach the stated width, this is a great way to adjust the size
  • then you will start decreasing on both sides of your work until you have 1 block stitch left
  • the block stitch is a two row repeat
  • The ends of rows naturally create a rippled edge which doubles up as a simple border for your blanket making it a really quick project
  • to create the hood for the blanket, you will crochet a triangle in block stitch following the original pattern
  • it uses the same technique as the main blanket, you will start with 1 block stitch and increase on both sides until you reach the stated width, then fasten off
  • you will sew the triangle onto one corner of the blanket across the two sides to create a hood
  • you will then crochet the bunny ears and cheeks body parts which are sewn onto the hood
  • the face is then finished off with a black embroidery thread for the eyes, nose, and whiskers
