Crochet baby blankets are such a great make. They are quick to crochet and a thoughtful handmade gift.

I used crochet to achieve a woven look crochet blanket. 

Firstly, I used moss (linen) stitch for the main body of the blanket. Undoubtedly, this is a great stitch for this project as it is not too open for little fingers to get stuck into. 

On the other hand, it has enough chain spaces to show of the strands of fabric woven through the crochet baby blanket.

The strands are worked into the blanket as you crochet. There is no additional fiddling with the yarn needle threading the strands through.

This is a free raglan-style crochet sweater for kids. The pattern comes in four sizes for 6, 12, 18, and 24-month-old kids. 

I have used the top down technique for this crochet sweater for kids. I have used foundation single crochet instead of a standard starting chain.

This allows for a lovely stretch of the neckline and does not pull.

The other thing is the neck split opening. I worked the start in rows which creates the opening.

The neck split opening makes the hole to push your head through much wider. Therefore easier to put on and take off.

29. Blue Lagoon Baby Hat Crochet Pattern

I created this hat when we were expecting our second baby. It was quite a while ago as Cole is now a toddler.

The finished hat I made came out a 3-6 month size as I have made a few newborn hats already so I wanted to make a bigger size. The instructions include 0-3 months size too.
