Easy and free tutorial on on how to crochet a ripple baby blanket. The crochet baby blanket pattern uses beginner stitches to create a ripple effect.

Baby blankets are such a popular crochet projects. They are smaller versions of blankets therefore work up so much faster.

You can really let your imagination go wild when crocheting a blanket for children.

I have designed this sweet crochet ripple blanket with beginner crocheter in mind. Sometimes creating a crochet ripple can be quite complicated.

You need to incorporate increases and decreases throughout the row. However, with this easy pattern you can crochet a ripple blanket using just a few basic stitches.

The basic crochet stitches are grouped together to create a mock ripple pattern. This combination works well when you use at least 4 different colours.

You can keep to similar colours to create ombre effect. This will give you a lovely soft blanket.

However, you can also use bold contrasting colours for a blanket that makes a real statement.

Crochet blankets, like any other type of bedding, should never be placed in a baby’s sleep environment unsupervised or without proper precautions as they could pose a suffocation risk or increase the chances of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS).
