This is a free women’s crochet pullover pattern that will be perfect for any occasion. It comes as a size inclusive design in nine different sizes from XS-5XL and uses DK weight yarn.
The Spicy Sweater is a beginner friendly crochet pullover pattern that is fun and quick to make!
I adore this women’s crochet pullover! I designed this sweater over 4 years ago now and I can say that it still fits!
I was a little apprehensive to try it on the other day. However, to my surprise the sweater still fits so well and looks as good as new!
This is not to boast that I’ve managed to keep extra weight off, this is to nod to handmade crochet garments that are made well and made to fit you perfectly.
The crochet pullover uses a fun but easy crochet stitch that slightly resembles the granny stitch. However, there are a few differences and I love the way it looks.

Women’s Crochet Pullover Pattern Details
This women’s crochet pullover is an easy crochet pattern. The pullover is constructed from two separate panels for the front and back.
The panels are sewn together to form the main body which is finished off with a ribbed neckline.
The sleeves are also worked separately from the cuff towards the shoulder.
They are then sewn onto the main body at the end.
The pattern comes in nine different sizes ranging from XS to 5XL (chest circumference 80 – 160 cm) so there are plenty of sizes to choose from.
It uses a fun and easy crochet stitch combination which gives the sweater a modern look.

Yarn I used
The original sample has been made in Deramores Studio DK yarn. It is a 100% acrylic yarn in DK weight, the ball contains 250 m per 100g ball.
However, this yarn has been now discontinued. There are some shades available at Lovecrafts at the time of writing this blogpost.
It is a standard DK weight yarn, so you can easily substitute this yarn. Here are some yarns that would be suitable as an alternative:

Sweater looks absolutely lovely. I’ve started any sweaters but have only completed 2 adult and 2 little person pieces. Although I started crocheting about 55 years ago, I’m all self taught and have some bad habits that don’t go away. ! While I am game to continue my struggle with garments, I do much better with blankets and bags.
