Beautifully lightweight crochet scarf pattern worked in spiral – Kamila Scarf. It is a beautiful crochet accessory for women. It uses a lace weight yarn so you have a scarf lighter than air and super soft.
I am totally in love with my latest crochet spiral scarf design! It is so lightweight and airy! Although I have called it a scarf, it can be worn throughout the year.
You can pair it up with jeans, skirts or formal trousers. It will elevate your outfit to the next level by creating a statement neck accessory.
I have used a lace weight yarn that creates a crochet scarf that is lighter than air! I have had a skein of The Mermaid’s Purse Yarn hand dyed yarn in my stash for longer than I care to admit.
It was one of the impulse purchases, however I do not regret it for a moment.
Although, I have had it for a while, sometimes you just need to wait for the perfect design idea to come to you. I have used up the entire 800 m of this beautiful skein.
I have kept repeating the pattern until I had a little bit of yarn left. This little leftover was then used to make a tassel for the thinner end of the scarf.
It doubles up as a small weight when you wrap the scarf around your neck. It sits nicely at the back stopping your scarf from unravelling.
Which means you can wear the scarf wrapped around without the need for any pins.
Crochet Spiral Scarf Design Process
The combination of lace yarn and 4 mm crochet hook has brought magical results! The thinner yarn and larger hook creates a lovely super light fabric with amazing drape.
I have used half double crochet stitch worked through the third loop only. As you pull through the third loop, it open up the hdc stitch beautifully.
This creates a lovely lacy fabric that look a little knitted.
The whole crochet scarf is worked in a spiral. What does that mean?
You start with a cone shape and keep working in round until the scarf is big enough. This is especially useful when you want to use up the entire skein of yarn.
A lot of people are put off working with such thin yarn. However, it is a lovely mindless crochet pattern that works up quicker than you expect.
