Crochet afghans are such a huge project to commit to. However, when finished they can be a beautiful addition to your home. Draped over the sofa adding that homely comfort to your living space. You can display a beautiful afghan on your bed complementing the chosen colours of your bedroom decor.
Crochet blanket also make a beautiful gifts for friends and family on special occasions like moving to a new house. Many of my designer friends made afghan for their daughters and sons when they have flown the nest to go to university. It is a lovely reminder for them when they are away from home.
They can be worked in many different ways. Firstly, you can make an afghan simply by working rows back and forth. The other way to make a crochet afghan is to work in rounds. You start working from the middle outwards around square or rectangle or any other shape you wish. The third and easiest way is to make smaller squares which you can join at the end.
However, the last option can become quite monotonous and it is very easy to lose interest in finishing such a large project. This is where taking part in Friendship Crochet Along can make crocheting a large afghan fun and exciting project. I have teamed up with 27 other designers and we are bringing you 40 different crochet afghan squares to make!
