Best of all, it’s incredibly easy to make.

With a simple two-panel construction, you won’t need to worry about shaping or complex seaming.

The lace stitch pattern is a true gem: it’s easy to remember, repetitive enough to relax into, but still produces a beautiful, openwork texture that looks far more intricate than it actually is.

This pattern is accessible for newer crocheters but still fun for experienced makers, and it’s written in nine inclusive sizes from XS all the way to 5XL.

Whether you like your tops fitted, relaxed, cropped, or tunic-length, the customizable nature of this pattern makes it a perfect canvas for your creativity.

Adjusting the length, width, or even the sleeve style is a breeze—just add or subtract rows or stitches as you like.

The lace construction keeps it light and drapey, which makes it a fantastic garment for sunny days, beach outings, or festival wear.

Lace Crochet T-shirt For Summer Pattern Details

I love just how easy it is to make this stunning lace crochet t-shirt!

All you have to do is crochet two T-shaped panels and attach them together. It is also super easy to customise the width and length of your t-shirt.

As well as that, the sleeves are completely customisable too – adjust the width and the length and you can turn it into a long-sleeved sweater!

I used a bamboo and cotton blend yarn which is just perfect for this type of project. It creates light, airy and breathable fabric.

The lace stitch pattern is visually stunning yet super easy to work with and memorise for truly mindless crafting experience.

Tension/Gauge

16 sts (2 stitch pattern repeats) x 9 rows (4.5 row pattern repeats) = 10 x 10 cm/ 4 x 4 inch after blocking

Chain 30.

Row 1: starting in 3rd ch from hook (missed 2 ch counts as first hdc), 1 hdc to end, turn.

[29 hdc]

Row 2: 1 stand dc, skip next st, *1 V st in next **, skip 3 sts, 1 shell in next, skip 3 sts; repeat from * across ending last repeat at **, skip next st, 1 dc into the last st, turn.

Row 3: 1 ch (doesn’t count as a st here and throughout), 1 hdc in first st, *1 hdc in each st and 1 ch-sp of V st, 1 hdc in each dc of shell; repeat from * across, 1 hdc in last st, turn.

[29 hdc]

Repeat Rows 2 – 3 until you have 15 rows in total.

Then measure out a 10 x 10 cm / 4 x 4 inch area in the middle of your swatch. Count how many stitches and rows fit into this area.

If you have less than 16 sts and 9 rows, you need to use a smaller hook.

If you have more than 16 sts and 9 rows, you need to use a larger hook.

Pattern Notes

  • the whole t-shirt consists of two parts – the front and the back panel
  • both the front and back panels are worked bottom up
  • you will start at the bottom working upwards towards the armpit
  • once you reach the desired length to armpits, we will extend the panel on both sides into a T shape to accommodate for the sleeves
  • the back panel is then finished off by working across the extended rows in the established pattern
  • the front panel is finished off by working across the extended rows apart from the last 4 rows
  • these are split with the middle part left out unworked to accommodate for the neckline opening at the front
  • the t-shirt is then made up by sewing the front and back panels together across the shoulder seams, underarm seam and side seams
