Lace Crochet Headband Pattern Details
The headband is a really easy crochet project even for confident beginners who want to dip their toes into crochet lace.
The main body of the crochet headband is worked lengthways so the whole headband consists of 6 rows of crochet lace which is super manageable.
Once you complete the main body, we will finish the headband off with simple triangles on either short end.
These are worked in single crochet stitches and to shape the triangle, you will simple single crochet two stitches together on both ends.
The triangles make the headband fit and sit better behind your ears when you wear it.
The long ties are simply created with chain stitches at the end of working each triangle.
For this lace crochet headband I used King Cole Giza 4-ply. This is a 100% mercerised cotton yarn and it is so lovely to work with.
Get your yarn from Lovecrafts HERE. Or from Knitting Network HERE.
It gives a great stitch definition while still being smooth, silky and so soft to touch.

- the main body of the headband os worked across the long edge
- the headband is finished off with 2 triangle shapes worked onto the shorter ends to sit better behind the ear
- you will work at 90 degree angle to the main body in rows of single crochet
- you will also create ties to be able to tie it behind
- it benefits from firm blocking to open up the lace pattern and stitches

Crochet Ties
To create the ties, chain 55 then fasten off.
Tighten the last chain stitch as much as you can. Then tie 2-3 knots really closely to the end so the chain doesnāt come apart.
Trim the end. To make the knots extra secure, use a dab of fabric glue on the end.
Then join yarn around the first end dc on the opposite side and repeat the same process.
The finished headband really benefits from firm blocking to open up the lace stitches.
