- one row is hdc stitches
- second row is special front post sts worked through third loop only of the hdc sts
- once you finish the rectangle for the circumference, you will crochet the two shorter sides together

Textured Crochet Pumpkin Written Pattern
The pattern is written out for pumpkin A (pumpkin B, pumpkin C).
With the appropriate hook size chain 18 (21, 30).
Row 1: Starting in 3rd ch from hook (first 2 ch counts as a st), 1 hdc across.
[17 (20, 29) sts]
Row 2 (WS): 1 stand dc, (1 dc tlo, 1 dc2tog tlo, 1 FPdc around the 2 sts just made) repeat until last st, 1 dc into the top of 2 ch from previous row, turn.
Row 3 (RS): 2 ch (counts as first hdc), 1 hdc in each st across to end, turn.
[17 (20, 29) sts]
Repeat Row 2 – 3 for pattern until you have 15 (17, 25) rows in total. Do not fasten off.
Fold the finished rectangle in half with wrong side facing out lining up the two shorter ends together.
Using a crochet hook and single crochet stitch or needle, attach the shorter ends together creating a tube shape. Cut yarn leaving a long tail.
Finishing & Assembly Instructions
Use yarn needle and running stitch to cinch one end of the pumpkin closed with the yarn tail.
Fasten off. Stuff your pumpkin through the open end with your choice of stuffing.
I use toy stuffing or tail ends and leftover yarn inside a nylon stocking so it doesnāt poke through the stitches. This is an easy way to stop your filling falling out.
Attach yarn on the top edge of the pumpkin, and cinch the top of the pumpkin closed using a running stitch.
Insert the needle through the top middle of the pumpkin and pull through to the bottom middle.
Pull yarn tight until you reach the squashed pumpkin shape, insert needle through the fabric and tie a tight knot to hold it in place.
Sew in the end securely.
For the pumpkin stem attach a small twig or a cinnamon stick to the top center of the pumpkin with a hot glue gun.
