Crochet Lacy Summer Top Description
I wanted to create an easy crochet top that looks like it took hours.
But all you have to do is to crochet two T-shaped pieces and seam them together.
It is a great garment to simply throw over your bikini on summer holiday or dress up a little for cocktail at the bar and let the crochet lacy stitches do all the talking.
This is an easy beginner friendly crochet pattern and a great one if you are just starting out in crochet garment making.
The lacy stitches create an intricate looking fabric but they are really easy and the stitch pattern is easily memorable.
The sleeves of this great crochet lacy summer top are worked as a part of the main body. I have included plenty of size adjustments notes to help you along the way with creating your first easy crochet summer garment.

Choosing the Perfect Yarn for Your Crochet Lacy Summer Top
For this project I used King Cole Bamboo Cotton DK yarn which was a match made in heaven. The yarn is made up of 50% cotton and 50% bamboo.
It creates an incredibly light fabric with amazing drape and stretch. If you are using yarn substitutes I would highly recommend using cotton blend yarns rather than pure 100% cotton.
Cotton blend yarns -blended with bamboo, linnen, acrylic- often create lighter fabric with more drape than 100% cotton which can result in rather thick and stiff fabric.

MATERIALS FOR CROCHET LACY SUMMER TOP
King Cole Bamboo Cotton DK (DK weight; 230m per 100g ball; 50% cotton, 50% bamboo) x 3 (4, 4, 5, 6, 7, 7, 8, 8) balls OR 660 (745, 835, 940, 1100, 1225, 1335, 1455, 1565) metres of substitute yarn;
The best substitute is cotton mix with bamboo, linen or acrylic yarn. 100% cotton can be used but will not give the garment the drape and stretch.
