This is a free crochet pattern to create a cute crochet Easter egg. You can make a bunch of these in so many different colors in under an hour and have a basket of cute eggs for Easter!

It is so quick to make thanks to the bulky yarn that in just under an hour you can make a bunch of colorful Easter eggs you can reuse year after year!
Put them in a small basket with a few spring flowers and you have a table decoration in no time!
I kept the pattern simple and beginner-friendly so everyone can make a cute egg!
You can keep things really simple and use a single color like I have. If you are feeling a little more adventurous, you can switch colors and make a colorful egg!

FREE Crochet Easter Egg Pattern
Materials Needed for Crochet Easter Egg
- Soho Skwishy (bulky weight; 100% Polyester; 120 m [131 yds] per 100g [3.5 oz]) x 1 ball in each Seaside, Peony Pop, Sunny Side
- 6 mm crochet hook
- Yarn needle
- Scissors
- toy stuffing

10 sc x 10 rounds = 10 x 10 cm/ 4 x 4 inch
Stitches And Abbreviations (US Crochet Terms)
ch – chain stitch
sl st – slip stitch
sc – single crochet
sc2tog – single crochet the following two stitches together using single crochet stitch

23 cm/9 inch circumference x 13 cm/5 inch height

Crochet Easter Egg Pattern Notes
- the easter eggs are worked in amigurumi style
- you will use single crochet stitches to shape the egg
- it is worked in joined rounds
- you will start working into a circle and increase to full width, then shape the top of the egg by elongating the top
- to make the eggs smaller/bigger adjust the starting circle by crocheting less/more increase round

Free Crochet Easter Egg Written Pattern
Chain 3, sl st to 1st ch to join and create a circle to work into.
Rnd 1: 1 ch (doesnāt count as a st here and throughout), 6 sc into the circle, sl st to top of first st
[6 sc]
Rnd 2: 1 ch, 2 sc in each st around, sl st to top of first st to join.
[12 sc]
Rnd 3: 1 ch, (1 sc, 2 sc in next st) repeat around, sl st to top of first st to join.
[18 sc]
Rnd 4: 1 ch, (2 sc, 2 sc in next st) repeat around, sl st to top of first st to join.
[24 sc]
Rnd 5 – 7: 1 ch, 1 sc around, sl st to top of first st to join.
[24 sc]
Rnd 8: 1 ch, (2 sc, 1 sc2tog) repeat around, sl st to top of first st to join.
[18 sc]
Rnd 9: 1 ch, 1 sc around, sl st to top of first st to join.
[18 sc]
Rnd 10: 1 ch, (1 sc, 1 sc2tog) repeat around, sl st to top of first st to join.
[12 sc]
Rnd 11: 1 ch, 1 sc around, sl st to top of first st to join.
[12 sc]
Insert stuffing.
Rnd 12: 1 ch, 1 sc2tog around, sl st to top of first st to join.
[6 sc]
Insert a bit more stuffing if needed.
Rnd 13: 1 ch, 1 sl st around, sl st to top of first st to join.
[6 sl st]
FINISHING INSTRUCTIONS
Fasten off leaving a longer tail end. Using a yarn needle, sew the small opening closed. Sew in all ends.
