How does a quick project usign chunky yarn and 8 mm crochet hook sound?

My Tunisian Crochet Ear Warmer patern is free right here on the blog, check it out below.

I simply love quick and easy projects. That is exactly what this ear warmer is.

I think it is perfect for the transitional weather. When it is not that warm anymore but not cold enough for a beanie.

This ear warmer would make such a lovely present for a loved one or a friend.

Because they are so quick to make, you can also make one for everyone and have an ear warmer themed winter party! …. too crazy? Lol

TUNISIAN CROCHET EAR WARMER DESIGN PROCESS

I love Tunisian crochet. It is such a great and fun technique that I have discovered about 10 years ago.

And I must say, I’m so excited every time an idea for a new Tunisian crochet project pops into my head.

There has been a little craze over the twisted headbands.

I really like the technique, so I turned to my trusted Tunisian crochet knit stitch to create my Tunisian crochet ear warmer.

It is a simple beginner friendly crochet pattern as there is no increase or decrease technique invloved.

Once you master the knit stitch with my super quick and easy video tutorial you are good to go!

YARN I USED FOR TUNISIAN CROCHET EAR WARMER

For my Tunisian crochet ear warmer, I reached for a yarn that I have already introduced here on the blog- West Yorkshire Spinners Re:Treat yarn.

It is a chunky wool roving that gives you an insane stitch definition and cosy feel to your finished project.

I used a little over a full ball so I would recommend buying 2 balls (I know you don’t need any encouragmet to buy more yarn, right?)

But if you have some yarn left over maybe you could whip up a mini me version of this headband?

PATTERN NOTES

  • The pattern starts with a foundation chain
  • The headband is worked in rows across the narrow side until you reach the required length
  • It is then sewn up with the two ends twisted over each other to create the headband
  • The loop that stays on the hook counts as first stitch throughout the pattern

SIZE ADJUSTMENTS

  • To adjust the width of the headband, add or take away stitches from the starting chain
  • If you want to make smaller or bigger headband, work more/less rows
