I have designed Anton Crochet Beanie which is an easy pattern suitable for beginners. It uses interlocking crochet technique supported by a video tutorial.
As the gift giving seasons is in full swing, I have decided to design a crochet beanie easy pattern that looks intricate.
However, this crochet beanie is easy to make. It uses two contrast colours that will make the striking design stand out even more.
This crochet beanie is also a super warm winter accessory. Because of the technique I used, the beanie is actually double thick! It has an added layer of yarn stitches on the inside which makes it super warm.
I used interlocking crochet technique for this crochet beanie easy pattern. It is a technique with similar results as mosaic crochet.
The technique uses a combination of front post crochet stitches and chain spaces. Despite that, I would class this easy pattern very beginner friendly. Check it out here Interlocking Crochet Technique – Simple Guide For Beginners.
I have also made a video tutorial that accompanies the written pattern.
Crochet Beanie Easy Pattern Design Process
I have been very lucky to receive some gorgeous Twill Yarn gifted from WeCrochet.
After a lot of looking and chosen, I have chosen two contrast colour combinations – red & cream and green & yellow. I instantly knew I had to use the red and cream colour combination for this design.
My desire was to design an easy pattern that uses both skeins and colours equally. I don’t know about you, but I get slightly annoyed when one colour gets used much less than the other…
I have previously used the interlocking crochet technique for my Interlocking Crochet Cushion Cover – Pinstripe Cushion Cover.
This technique creates a super squishy fabric. The fabric has two layers which makes it super warm.
It consists of the post stitches at the front and the chain spaces that create an additional layer on the back.
By doing so, you can actually create a reversible crochet beanie. I have carried my yarn on the back to save on having to sew in the ends.
However, if you wanted a reversible beanie, you will have to fasten off after each round.
The front post stitches create vertical stripes, whereas the chain spaces create horizontal stripes on the back.

I have filmed a handy video tutorial to show you how to work the interlocking crochet technique. This is a super easy technique that will show you the basics of working with two colours.
